The Girls

Doing studio photos of my girls in the past has been like pulling teeth. I avoided it for as long as possible but unfortunately too much time has passed without me taking any decent pics of them.

A few weeks ago Emma and I decided to give it a go. We were determined to get some photos done, come what may, even though the prospect was daunting. We prepared as well as possible, not forgetting chocolate bribes and promises of Santa’s forthcoming visit.

Thankfully it seemed be easier-going this time even though I had moments of uncontrolled crying and gnashing of teeth. Most parents know this well. Those that don’t either drink to much or not enough.

We persevered.

We are happy with the results – so pleased in fact that we ordered a couple of ‘Acrylic Lifestyle‘ products for the girls room and an extra one for the studio.

Check out the images and let me know what you think. All opinions welcome.

A Wedding in Cape Town

I had the pleasure of photographing my twin brother’s wedding in Cape Town.

This wedding was guaranteed to be a visual feast, set against the stunning backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean and the picturesque and exclusive Camps Bay ‘The Twelve Apostles‘ hotel as the venue. It didn’t disappoint.

Despite the strong mountain winds forcing us to move the wedding inside, the very intimate ceremony proceeded without a hitch.

The reception followed at dusk and a candlelit marquee tent welcomed us to a romantic evening and beautiful conclusion to the happy day.

Laurette, the beautiful bride was radiant and looked stunning. My dashing brother completed a perfect picture of a beautiful couple. I am privileged to photograph the happy event and to share their special day amongst friends and family.

Beautiful Day

The past weekend was fabulous with Sunday as the climax.  It was beautiful and couldn’t have been more perfect.  My girls and I spent most of it in our back garden, soaking up the rays and enjoying each other’s company.

The twins are a delight and inspirational little people.

High Tea for Daddy

Yesterday I joined my girls for High Tea at their nursery to mark a premature celebration of this coming Father’s Day.

We enjoyed cucumber sandwiches and tea.  The majority of it ended up in my lap as it was my turn to be fed by the girls ;-) .

They subsequently took me on a guided tour of their playground – pointing out the moos on the adjacent farm and hand-holding me through the obstacle courses.

The Lake District

I stumbled upon a few forgotten images from the past whilst scouting for some suitable ‘headshot’ images of me. You know – the ones before the double chin, jowly chops and the sunken dark-ringed eyes – complements of our new arrivals thanks. I digress.

The Lakes is a wonderful place to visit and I have fond memories of it. Emma and I used to spend many weekends walking the beautiful countryside during the day and settling in welcoming pubs at nights.

Just the kind of place to unwind; a little break that packs a punch right where it matters.
